唐津観光と言えば「呼子のイカ」が有名です。毎朝7時半から開かれる朝市で、新鮮な魚介類や加工品、お野菜くだものをゲットして、その後はランチに呼子名物のイカを食べに行くのが定番。そんなイカのイメージのある唐津ですが、先日私たちは、呼子以外の見どころスポットに行ってきました☺
Karatsu city is famous for squid in Yobuko. There is a market held every morning from 7:30 to 12:00, where you can buy fresh and processed seafood and vegetable. And after that, most people go to the restaurant where you can eat fresh squid cuisine. That’s a standard plan, but we visited other good places the other day☺
【鏡山展望台】
まず、唐津の絶景が見られる展望台。
展望台があるのは、標高284mの鏡山。虹ノ松原駅から展望台まで、車で15分で到着します。（徒歩だと90分くらい。）
【Kagamiyama Observatory】
First, an observatory from where you can see a superb view of Karatsu city.
It’s located on 284m height mountain called Kagamiyama. It takes about 15 minutes by car from Niji-no-matsubara station to the observatory. (About 90 minutes on foot)
くねくねした山道を登っていくと、大きな駐車場が。大型バスも停まることができる大きな駐車場です。
After a winding mountain road, you will arrive at the large parking lot where large buses can also park.
駐車場から3～4分歩くと、、、
After 3 or 4 minutes walk….
唐津市を一望できる絶景！山と海とが両方あり、空気もきれいで思わず「ここに住みたい！」と思わせるような景色でした。
そしてそのすぐ先には展望台！
A superb view of overlooking Karatsu city! (A panoramic view of Karatsu city!) There are mountains, sea, fresh air, and it made me want to live there.
And just ahead, the observatory!
展望デッキがせり出していて、まるで鳥になったかのような気分に??
The observation deck is sticking out, so I felt myself became a bird??
【虹の松原】
この展望台からは、日本三大松原の一つ、「虹の松原」を見下ろすことができます。写真には納まりきれていませんが、全長約4.5km、幅約0.5kmに渡り、約100万本の松が植えられているそうです?
【Niji-no-Matsubara Pine Grove】
From this observatory, you can see Niji-no-Matsubara which is one of the three most scenic pine groves in Japan. The whole view doesn’t fit in this photo. A million of pine trees are planted over a length of about 4.5km and a wide of 0.5km.?
これは自然にできたものではありません。17世紀の初めに、唐津藩主が防風・防潮のために海岸線にマツを植林したのがはじまりと言われているそう。
雲の動きによって、地上が陰になったり明るくなったり、色んな顔を見せてくれました。ダイナミックかつ美しい景色を眺めることができますよ。
This is not naturally built. It is said that the Karatsu lord planted these pine trees as a windbreak and to protect against the tide along the coast in the 17th century. The movement of the clouds made the ground shaded and brightened, and it showed us various faces. You can see dynamic and beautiful scenery.
※駐車場から展望台までの道は整備されているので、車いすの方や小さなお子さんも安心して行ける場所です。
※The road leading to the observatory from the parking lot is well maintained, so handicapped people and children can also go there easily.
ちなみに虹ノ松原は、その中を車で走ることができます！きれいだった～?✨

【鏡山神社】
そして駐車場の向いあたりにあるのが「鏡山神社」。
【Kagamiyama shrine】
And Kagamiyama shrine, located at the opposite side of the parking lot.
山頂にあるとは思えないぐらい、広くてきれいで明るい神社。
ここは、神功皇后が朝鮮半島出兵の際に鏡山の山頂に登り戦勝祈願をしたといわれる地。そこに建てられたのがこの鏡山神社。
Large, beautiful, bright shrine that you wouldn’t guess it’s on the top of the mountain. This is the place Empress Jingu prayed for victory of the war.
本殿左側にまた鳥居が。鳥居には「鏡山神社」、その次の鳥居には「白玉神社」その次は「荒熊神社」。
There were some torii on the left side of the main shrine. It was written “Kagamiyama shrine” , and next “Shiratama shrine”, and next ”Arakuma shrine”.
今回私たちは奥まで行かなかったのですが、このように鳥居がしばらく続き…。
複数の神社があるということなのか…？
We didn’t go all the way this time, but we saw some torii ahead…

【見帰りの滝】
そして今度は「見帰りの滝」。
日本の滝百選にも選ばれていて、落差はなんと100ｍ！滝周辺の渓谷はあじさいの名所としても知られていて、毎年6月にはあじさい祭りが開催されます。約4万株のあじさいが咲き誇るのだとか✨
【Mikaeri-no-Taki Waterfalls】
This waterfalls are selected as one of the “Japan’s Top 100 Waterfalls”, and the height is 100m! The valley around the waterfalls is famous for Hydrangea, and Hydrangea festival is held every June. You can see about 40,000 hydrangeas are in full bloom✨
滝に向かって車を走らせると、左側に見えてくるのが「ほたる橋」。メタルでできた昆虫のモニュメント？がたくさん飾られていて、いい雰囲気を出しています。
On your drive way to the waterfalls, you’ll find a bridge called “Hotaru bashi”. A lot of metallic insect monuments are on display, creating good atmosphere.
この橋の下では、子供が川遊びを楽しめるスポットが。
Under this bridge, there is a spot children can play in the river.
あ～いい光景☺ 夏や～
この向かいに駐車場があるので、川遊びする方はここの駐車場へ。
Good scenery☺ The summer!
You can park the opposite side of the road if you want to play in this river.
さらに進むとすぐに右側に駐車場が出てくるので、滝まで緑の中の遊歩道を歩いて行きたい方はここで駐車。滝までは500ｍ。ちなみに滝のすぐそばにも駐車場があります。
Going further a little bit more, a parking lot appear on the right side, so you park here if you want to take promenade to the waterfalls. 500m to the waterfalls. By the way, there is a parking lot right next to the waterfalls.
そして見えてくるのがこれ！
Then you’ll see this!
なかなかの迫力があります!
滝のすぐそばまで行くことができるので、暑い日には水しぶきを浴びて気持ちいい！
Impressive! You can go close to the waterfalls, and it feels so cool to be splashed on a hot day!
この「見帰りの滝（見返り）」の名前の由来は、滝を見て帰る時に、「あの坂道をまた上ってでももう一度見たいと思って見返ってしまう滝」というところからきているのだとか。そういえば、私も見返った！！笑
It is said that the origin of the name “Mikaeri no taki” comes from the fact that you look back when you leave there, because you want to see it again even you have to climb the slope again. By the way, I also looked back! Lol
ランチは、「お食事処きはち」さんで。
湯上りセット（¥1700）なるものがあり、丼ぶりとお風呂をいただけます！
We had a lunch at Kihachi. There was a bath included on the menu! Donburi(Bowl meal) + a bath（¥1700）.
夫は300円ほどプラスして、海鮮丼。お刺身がほんとに大好きなフランス人です。
My husband added ¥300 and ordered seafood Don. He’s a French who loves Sashimi.
お風呂は温泉ではないけど、海を眺められる露天風呂！
The bath is not hot spring, but outdoor bath with a view of the sea!
いや～、満足満足。
I was content that day.
