フランス里帰り（3日目）/ Journey in France (Day 3)

さて、前回の衝撃のじゃがいもレストランの翌日。
お義母さんにスーパーに連れて行ってもらいました。
今日もまた、ドーンっ！！！
Now, the day after the shocking potato restaurant.
My mother in law took us to the supermarket.
Another shocking day!

田舎のスーパーでさえ、この品揃えと大きさ！
お肉をよく食べるので、キロ売りなんですね。しかも、新鮮で安い…
Even small supermarket has good assortment, and the meats are big!
Since people in France eat meat quite often, they are sold in kilos. And they’re fresh and cheap…


そして！！
And!!

長い冷蔵庫1列全てチーズ！
こんなに種類があったら、毎日ワクワク迷う～✨
知っていましたか？フランスでは食事の後デザートの前に、チーズタイムがあるそうな。食事前のワインのお供は、ハムやサラミ、ナッツ、スナック菓子、もちろんチーズを食べることも。どんだけチーズが好きなんだろう。フランスはチーズの国だという事は知っていたけど、チーズタイムは知らなかったしびっくりでした！
The whole fridge was a cheese section! If there are such many kinds of cheese, I would be excited everyday✨
Do you know that “Cheese time” exists in France? They eat cheese between meal and dessert.
For the aperitif, they enjoy wine with hams, saucissons, nuts, snacks, and sometimes cheese of course. How much do they love cheese?
I knew France is a country of cheese, but I was surprised to know that there is a cheese time before dessert.


私は旅行で他の国に行くと、その国のスーパーに行くのが好きです。
そこに住む人たちの暮らしが少し見えてくるから。お土産もお土産屋さんや空港で買うよりスーパーの方が安いですしね?
I love to go to the local supermarket when I go abroad for travel because I can see the lifestyle of the people living there.



さて、興奮のスーパーから帰り、おうちでランチ。
人生で初めてこのお肉を食べました。
Now, we left exciting supermarket, and lunch time at home.
I had this meat for the first time in my life.

うさぎちゃん！！?
お義母さんがランチに作ってくれました。食感はチキンに似ていて、味は軽めの独特。好き嫌い分かれるだろうな～という感じ。私は割と美味しくいただけましたよ。
フランスではうさぎを食べると聞いたときは正直びっくりしましたが、牛も豚も鳥も羊も馬も食べているわけで、何ら変わらないのですよね。お肉にしても野菜にしても、全てに対して感謝をしながら頂かなければな～と思ったのでした。
Rabbit!!?My mom in law cooked it for me. The texture is like chicken, and the taste is a little unique.
I thought this is not everybody’s taste, but I enjoyed it.
Honestly I was shocked when I knew people eat rabbit in France, but we eat cows, pigs, birds, sheep, horses, it’s not that different. I realized once again that I should eat foods with gratitude.


スーパーでびっくりし人生初のうさぎも食し、落ち着いたかと思いきや。
I was surprised at the supermarket, and I ate the first rabbit in my life, and I thought that was it, but….

デザートの美味しさにこれまたびっくりー！！！
「ポアールオショコラ」という名のデザートらしく、少しサラッとしたカスタードクリームのような味のソースの上に洋ナシとチョコレート！これは本当に美味しかった。うん、本当に美味しかった(>_<)✨
I was amazed at the dessert!! It’s called “Poire au chocolat“, pear and chocolate on Crème anglaise (French for “English cream”), a light custard-like sauce! That was amazingly delicious. Yes it was (>_<)✨

さて、次の目的地に向かいます。
目指すはArdèche県にあるSaint-Félicienという町。
道中、こんな雄大な景色が続きます✨
Now, we’re going to the next destination, Saint-Félicien in Ardèche.
Such a magnificent views were there along the way✨

フランスの国土は日本の約1.8倍で、人口は約半分。
日本のように家や建物でごみごみしてなくて、開放感ある景色が続きます。
France has almost double the land size as Japan, yet half of the population.
It’s not crowded with houses and buildings like Japan, and spacious sceneries were everywhere.

長距離ドライブだったので、途中で少し車を止めて外へ休憩に。
すると、、、、、、なんと、、、、、、
エスカルゴ発見だってーーーーΣ(ﾟДﾟ)！！
Since it was a long drive, we parked a car and went outside for a rest.
Then……My husband found an escargot Σ(ﾟДﾟ)！！

え！？エスカルゴってこんなところに普通にいるの！？え！？てかこれがエスカルゴ！？プチパニック（笑）でも冷静に考えたらそうだよね、こういう所にいるんだよね。フランスでは食べなかったけど、フランスへ行く2か月前に日本で初めて食しました。まずくはないけど、沢山は食べられないかな～?
What!? They’re in such a place and we can find it easily!? What!? Anyway is this an escargot!? I was panicked a little lol. But it’s right, there live in such a place. We didn’t eat escargot in France,but I ate it in Japan for the first just two months before the trip. It was not that bad, but I can’t eat it a lot ?

We now see the town.

この町のメイン広場。左奥で小さくマルシェが開かれていました。
The main square of this hometown. You can see the little market on the far left.

広い草原の中にポツンんと一軒家。こういう所に住みたい！！私が思い描いていた理想がここに。
A house in a large field. I want to live in such a place! This is my dreaming ideal.

とてもとても田舎な町ですが、とてもとても素敵なレストランがあり、夕食はそちらで頂きました。写真撮影は控えたので、お店のホームページをご紹介しますね。
Although it’s a small country town, there was very very nice restaurant, where we had dinner. I refrained from taking pictures, so I introduce their homepage.
